Writing in English for social media

Create content that does not sound “translated” or “machine-generated”

You may already write content for social media in German, but have realised that simply translating it word for word into English or running it through a machine does not reach the quality standards your company aims for. When writing in English for social media, finding the right tone, rhythm, and balance between professionalism, personality and precision are key. To engage international audiences, posts need to sound authentic and reflect your company’s voice.

This course helps professionals working in the international arena refine their English writing for social channels. You will learn how to craft posts, captions, and short texts that flow naturally and communicate your message with clarity and impact, as well as to identify and edit issues with machine-generated content.

Format

  • 3 × 90-minute live online sessions
  • Small group (2–3 participants) or individual coaching
  • Interactive writing tasks based on your company’s real content

What you’ll learn

  • Formal aspects (punctuation, capitalisation, paragraph separation etc.)
  • When to abbreviate, condense, and use bullet points or lists
